Ex-’Enders Actor Joins ‘Supernatural’

I hope this is true! Will be great.

Former EastEnders actor Adam Croasdell has landed a role in hit American drama Supernatural, Digital Spy can reveal.

The 29-year-old, currently best known for his part as Walford’s Dr Al Jenkins, is to play Baldur, the Norse god of light on the CW series.

News of Croasdell’s casting comes just a few days after his final EastEnders scenes aired on BBC One. He had been out in Los Angeles for only a week when he secured his new part.

Speaking of the role, Croasdell told DS: “It’s fantastic being a part of such a popular show and exciting to be in the American arena. I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

The soap star had previously confirmed talks for new projects by revealing that he had “a couple of nice things on the boil”, but kept tight-lipped over the details at the time.

As well as EastEnders, Croasdell has appeared in The Chase and Holby City. Meanwhile, last November, he revealed that he had taken on the role of James Bond for Activision’s latest game.

Supernatural’s current fifth season is expected to be its last, though creator Eric Kripke has suggested that there is room for another season if the show is recommissioned.

Not Strictly Groovy

Former ‘EastEnders’ hunk Adam Croasdell has revealed he won’t appear on a reality show like ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ because he can’t ‘’shake his groove thing”

Adam Croasdell won’t appear on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ because he can’t “shake his groove thing”.

The ‘EastEnders’ hunk – better known for playing Dr. Al Jenkins on the BBC One show – has no plans to appear in the reality TV show because his dance moves would “insult” viewers.

He told BANG Showbiz: “Look, if I had the moves I would do it. But I wouldn’t want to insult the nation by trying to shake my groove thing and not quite managing it.”

Adam’s nine-month-long stint as the womanising GP ended on Friday (05.02.10).

Adam Flattered By Fans

Adam Croasdell thinks it’s “lovely” when female fans come on to him.

The hunky ‘EastEnders’ actor – who played womanising Dr. Al Jenkins in the BBC One show – is regularly approached by women who tease him about his portrayal of the hunky GP and tempt him to check their heart rate.

He said: “I have actually had quite a lot of that, ‘Doctor, will you feel my heart’. It’s very funny, and actually it makes me laugh. It’s a lovely thing.”

While Adam doesn’t mind the attention, his friends have found it harder to come to terms with his heartthrob status.

He laughed: “My friends think it’s hilarious. I don’t take it very seriously, when I’m out in public and people come up to me. I’ll always say hi and have my picture taken with them but my mates think it’s hilarious.”

Adam’s Sexy Bribe

Adam Croasdell bribed ‘EastEnders’ bosses so he could get close to his stunning co-stars.

The hunky actor – who played Dr. Al Jenkins in the BBC One programme – persuaded the writers to pen saucy storylines for his alter-ego so he could be “set up” with the show’s beautiful actresses, a technique he plans to use forever more.

He told BANG Showbiz: “Being referred to as a heartthrob is definitely strange. But I think the sort of bribe that I gave the writers on ‘EastEnders’ – to set me up with all the girls in the show – was great. I’m definitely going to do that on every programme I’m on from now on!”

During his stint on the Walford-based soap, Dr. Al snuggled up to both single mum barmaid Roxy and her love-rival Chelsea.

‘Walford Love Plots Were Great’

Former EastEnders star Adam Croasdell has revealed that he loved being part of romantic storylines on the BBC soap.

The actor’s alter ego Dr Al Jenkins, who was seen on screen for the final time last night, enjoyed attention from Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons), Tanya Branning (Jo Joyner) and Chelsea Fox (Tiana Benjamin) during his nine-month stint on the programme.

Admitting that he was keen for his character to be successful with the ladies, Croasdell told BANG Showbiz: “Being referred to as a heartthrob is definitely strange. But I think the sort of bribe that I gave the writers on EastEnders – to set me up with all the girls in the show – was great. I’m definitely going to do that on every programme I’m on from now on!”

Eastenders Updates

After a run-in with Billy, Roxy’s close to tears and calls Dr Al for some support. Al, however, has some news of his own – he’s going to a meeting as the partners at the practice are making life difficult for him.

Airs Tuesday, 2 February.

Future Romance For ‘EastEnders’ Roxy Mitchell?

Roxy’s romance with Dr Al in EastEnders comes to an abrupt end during next week’s episodes when he’s resigns from his post over complaints about his conduct – even though Roxy wasn’t registered at the practice.

They weren’t really going anywhere and when Roxy discovered that she’d inherited £3 million and The Vic, Al was well and truly pushed on to the back burner.

So what does the woman behind the character think about Roxy’s lacklustre love life?

Dr Al’s leaving, so that removed any possibility of a romance with him – do you think Roxy will ever be lucky in love again?
“Roxy nearly settled down and once again it was ripped away from her! It’s a shame, though, because the public seemed to really like Roxy and Al together. It was just bad timing that he was going. I guess Roxy can have a bit more fun now. Not that I’ve seen anything in the scripts, though! What’s so funny is that people are so quick to say ‘Roxy’s the Square’s bike’ or ‘the slapper’ but her sister’s going around pricking condoms and sleeping with anything with a pulse! Roxy’s been like a spinster since Sean left and the first bit of action she gets is the doctor.”

Old Interview

Did you know any of the cast before?
I knew Charlie Brooks, who plays Janine, because we did a play called Office Games together in 2003. Adam Rickitt, who was in Corrie, was also in it. Being telly stars they’d get accosted by the paps and the rest of us would stand around saying, ‘Wow, that’s a whole other side of things.’

How do you feel about having a higher profile?
These days it seems hard to get roles unless you have a profile, so I’m grateful that this has happened. It seems very unfair that there are plenty of talented actors out there who don’t get a stab at decent parts because they’re not well known. I understand what’s it’s like to be passed over for someone who’s more of a name! I’m really grateful to get my face out there, and I feel privileged to be part of the institution that is EastEnders.
